What it does
Settling liability on arrival
Damage discovered after a container has been accepted is a dispute. Damage recorded at the gate, against the container number, with images and a timestamp, is a fact. Moving the inspection point to the gate is what changes the conversation from argument to record.
What gets inspected
The system reads the container number and ISO type, checks the visible faces for dents, gouges, holes and door damage, and grades what it finds against the severity scale your terminal already uses. Nothing about the grading is novel; it is your existing scale applied consistently.
Consistency across shifts
The practical gain is less about catching damage a person would miss and more about grading it the same way at three in the morning as at midday. Inspection consistency across shifts and inspectors is the thing manual processes struggle most to hold.
Honest limits
The gantry sees the faces it is positioned to see. Roof and underside damage need their own camera positions, and a container stacked or presented at an unusual angle may present faces the system cannot assess. We will tell you which faces a given gantry layout can and cannot cover.

Questions
Does it inspect the roof and underside?
Only with camera positions that see them. A standard side gantry covers the side and door faces; roof and underside inspection needs its own mounting, and we will say so rather than imply full coverage.
Can we use our own damage grading scale?
Yes, and you should. The system applies the scale your terminal already works to, which is what makes the output usable in an existing dispute process.
